Listening to jazz CD that came in free with today's paper. It's a selection of tracks from Sydney's local jazz scene. It's always good to support musicians wherever you are. So here's a list of what the track contains:
1. Cafe Au Lee - SIMON Sweeney Sextet
2. Rise Up - THE MODERN CONGRESS (FT TINA HARROD, VOCALS)
3. Waiting For Rain - ELATION
4. In Our Own Time - LILY DIOR
5. All Of This - INGA LILJESTROM
6. Neil Finn - GERARD MASTERS TRIO
7. My Remembered Muse - MARK4
8. I'm Alright - OMEGAMAN FEAT. MERENIA

Rented DVD's, including the one about the dismissal of the Labour government under Gough Whitlam by the then governor-general Roy Kerr. The inside story on that one is that the Americans lobbied the British after Labour was making protests against the US bases in Australia, sealing the coffin on an embattled government that was also held ransom by a Senate led by the Liberals who were forcing early elections. In Australia's history, a non-elected personality dismissed an elected official. Despite writings of his love of Australia, Kerr lives in self-imposed exile in England, due to what he had done. Story has it that Kerr had this obsession with all these royal trappings.

Also got Isabel Allende's "Paula" relatively cheaply from the video store-cum-bookshop.

Enrolled in Advanced Writing. On the way, met Filipina from Ateneo who commented that probably there are just 4 Filipinos in campus. Saw a few friendly faces from last semester, including Alison, Tamara (who was born in Trinidad & Tobago), Jeff (lifeguard dude) and others. Also saw Dew (prob'ly a nickname), new classmate from Thailand who was in my class yesterday. There's also a Fil-Oz who's traveled many parts of the globe. First session was introduction of your buddy.

Somewhere here finished reading Neil Gaiman's signed 'Stardust.' Gaiman's characters generally set out from the real world and end up in a different magical dimension. 'Stardust' is one of his most enchanting stories.

Had meet at Harris Park. Since it was finished past 10, no trains were going to come through station, so went with Tito B. and Tapinx to Gosford. Bought some things at Coles, which closed at midnight.
